10 February 2016 – Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Constancio R. Vingno, Jr. attended the 2nd Commencement Exercises of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) – Open University in the UAE on February 05 at the Sofitel Hotel, Abu Dhabi as Guest of Honor and Speaker.

Twenty-four (24) Filipino engineers and architects in the UAE comprised the second batch of graduates of the Master of Science in Construction Management (MsCM) Program of the PUP – Open University in the UAE.

PUP officials, led by Executive Vice President Dr. Manuel Muhi, members of the PUP Board of Regents, and MSCM Course Specialists graced the event. Honorable Emmanuel R. De Guia, Representative of Senator Pia S. Cayetano, delivered the Inspirational Message. Engr. Paquito Idos, Class of 2016 Vice President, delivered the Thanksgiving Speech on behalf of the graduates.

In his remarks, Ambassador Vingno congratulated and applauded the graduates for their determination to enhance their overall competitiveness as professionals and for raising the image of the Filipino not only in the UAE but also in the whole MENA region.  He also commended the administration and faculty of the PUP – Open University for giving an opportunity to Overseas Filipinos to continuously invest in their education.

The graduates are composed of engineers and architects currently working and residing in the UAE who aspire to be project managers or construction managers following their attainment of the master’s degree. END
