23 September 2013 - The Philippine Embassy in Doha, State of Qatar conducted a Post-Arrival Orientation Seminar (PAOS) during a training seminar of Philippine Association of Safety Engineers (PHASE), a Filipino community organization of safety practitioners in Qatar, at Guest Palace Hotel on September 20.

Around 120 oveerseas Filipino workers (OFWs) attended the seminar.

Vice Consul Melvin C. Almonguera and Labor Attaché Leopoldo B. De Jesus led the Embassy’s PAOS team, which discussed, among others, the Embassy’s assistance-to-nationals services, Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) services, SSS and Pag-IBIG procedures and benefits. 

The team likewise gave an introduction of the Embassy’s contingency plan as it has partnered with PHASE on the mapping of Filipino nationals.

The Embassy regularly conducts a PAOS to inform the Filipino community of their rights, the Embassy’s services, and some relevant procedures in Qatar. END
