22 February 2016 - To start the New Year, the Tourism Office of the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco is holding the “Visit the Philippines Again 2016” campaign, which kicked off at the Philippine Center lobby on February 03. The campaign’s launch coincided with San Francisco’s hosting of America’s biggest sportingevent, the Super Bowl 50.

 

Tourism Director Pura Molintas delivered a presentation to tour operators and local media regarding, which promoted Philippines as a prime tourism destination, highlighting Manila, Boracay, Palawan, Cebu, Bohol, and Albay, among other locations. The “Visit the Philippines Again 2016” campaign also featured roundtrip San Francisco-Manila and Cebu tour packages offered by travel and tour operators such as Mango Tours, Majestic Vacations, Pacific Air Leisure, and Rajah Tours.

Meanwhile, San Francisco’s cable cars, MUNI buses and trains showcased the “It’s More Fun in the Philippines”ad at the time when an estimated one million people traveled into the city for the Super Bowl 50. A social media campaign led by San Francisco Entertainment Commissioner Al Perez was announced at the event and Philippine Airlines also released “SuperBowl travel fares.”

 

Philippine Consul General to San Francisco Henry S. Bensurto, Jr. invited the Community to follow the Department of Tourism (DOT)’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat accounts to post and share photos of the wrap advertising on key San Francisco transportation mediums,using #VisitPhilippinesAgain2016to spread the word during the Super Bowl week-long events.  

 

The DOT also partnered with Hana Zen Restaurant, SB 40 Restaurant and Broadway Studios. These establishments were allstrategically locatedin and aroundSuper Bowl City,where the ad campaign was highly visible to tourism traffic.

 

The DOT situated a travel desk at the Philippine Center Lobby to provide additional information and souvenir giveawayssuch as ponchos, bags and towels to people who participated in the campaign. END
