08 March 2016 - Philippine Consul General Marichu Mauro and newly-arrived Overseas Workers Welfare Association (OWWA) Officer and Acting Labor Attaché Ms. Jocelyn Hapal had an open one-on-one meeting with OFW Watch President Mr. Rhoderick Ople on February 25. The meeting is a follow-up to the dialogue organized by OFW Watch on February 21 in Bologna.

The meeting was an opportunity for the Consulate and the OFW Watch to discuss vital issues of mutual interest to both parties. Consul General Mauro in particular extended an invitation to Mr. Ople and his members to actively participate in all of the Consulate’s projects and activities that benefit the Filipino Community of Milan and Northern Italy. She also encouraged Mr. Ople and his group to continue pursuing more constructive and positive engagement with the Consulate and the community. 

Mr. Ople was engaging, open and sincere in his desire for OFW Watch to forge close collaboration and work in partnership with the Philippine Consulate in Milan. He was accompanied by Mr. Agliberto Aquino, Co-Founder; and Ms. Mely Ople, Secretary-General. END
