14 March 2016 - Mayor of Trieste Roberto Cosolini stopped by the Salone degli Incanti where the Philippine Consulate General in Milan was conducting their mobile consular services and dialogue with the Filipino community on March 06. Philippine Consul General Marichu Mauro was on hand to receive him.

Mayor Cosolini was very cordial and profuse with his compliments on the Filipino community. “The Filipinos in Trieste are some of the most hardworking and nicest people working and living here,” the Mayor said to Consul General Mauro.

On her part, the Consul General was very pleased to hear that the Filipino community in Trieste is well-received and respected by the local community. She encouraged everyone present to continue uplifting the image of our people.

The Consul General thanked Mayor Cosolini for the city’s benevolent treatment of the Filipino workers in Trieste and requested him to continue promoting and protecting their interests in Trieste.  Mayor Cosolini assured her that he and his local government will continue to do so.

After their brief meeting, Consul General Mauro introduced her mobile consular team to the Mayor. The Consul General and the Mayor also exchanged gifts to commemorate the event. END
