15 March 2016 - Following the New ePassport Appointment and Enrollment System Training held on March 01 to 13 at Hotel Jen in Singapore, the trainees in the said workshop, Mr. Derico Derupe and Mr. Anthony Acosta, Jr., together with Mr. Mart Macapañas of APO-NEC, echoed the training to their colleagues in the Consular Section, headed by Vice Consul Melvin Almonguera, on March 10 at the Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam. 

The consular team was oriented on the new features of the new ePassport system, particularly the improvements on the current one.  The team was also given an opportunity to do hands-on practice using the new system.

The participants unanimously commended the Department’s move to adopt the new system.  They found it more user-friendly and responsive to realities of processing passports. They also discussed ways to adjust procedures in the Consular Section in view of the new e-Passport system. END.
