22 March 2016 - Philippine Ambassador to Japan Manuel M. Lopez and Madame Maria Teresa L. Lopez hosted a dinner at the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo on March 14 to welcome the participants to the Training for the Enrolment Module of New Electronic Passport System.
Assistant Secretary Frank R. Cimafranca of the Department of Foreign Affairs - Office of Consular Affairs (DFA-OCA) led the 39 training participants comprised of representatives from 19 Foreign Service Posts coming from 11 countries and the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) in Taipei. Guests at the dinner also included representatives from the APO Production Unit, Inc. led by Ms. Elvi Cureg.
Embassy officials gave a slide presentation of Embassy plans and programs as part of the activities to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Normalization of the Diplomatic Relations between Japan and the Philippines this year. Guests were served with sushi and Kamameshi, the traditional Japanese rice cooked in an iron pot with various kinds of meat. The Embassy Band entertained the guests and the training participants also joined them in their live performances.
The three-day training, which ran from March 15 to 17, was organized by APO Production Unit, Inc. in cooperation with DFA-OCA and the Embassy. END
