25 September 2013 - Two Lao diplomats from the Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) - Mr. Khamla Khoutlavong, a research fellow of the Research Division and Mr. Khamkieng Chanthavong, an English Instructor of the Training Division, left for the Philippines recently to join a training course organized by the Philippine Foreign Service Institute (FSI).
Mr. Khoutlavong and Mr. Chanthavong will join other Philippine junior diplomats currently undergoing cadetship training in one module of their program. The Module on Protocol and Conference Management will run for seven days, beginning September 12.
Two other IFA-MOFA officers undertook the training in Manila in April 2012 in preparation for Laos’ hosting of the 9th ASEM Meeting then.
In May 2012, IFA and FSI signed a Memorandum of Agreement with a view of promoting academic exchange and cooperation between the two institutes.
Prior to their departure, Mr. Khoutlavong and Mr. Chanthavong called on Philippine Ambassador to Laos Maria Lumen B. Isleta. END
