23 March 2016 - The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah participated in the Asian Food Festival at the residence of the Consul General of Indonesia on March 11.
The event, which was organized by the Asian Consuls General Club (ACGC) Jeddah, following the end of its Asian Film Festival, featured cuisines from Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, India, China, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Indonesia. This annual food festival enabled all the participating countries to showcase their various native cuisines for the savoring and enjoyment of their collective, not less than 400 invited guests that included diplomats, prominent Saudi personalities, media people and Asian expatriates.
At the Philippine food booth, the Consulate served the famous chicken sisig, sweet and spicy dilis, chicken galantina, steamed rice, pichi-pichi and buko-pandan. It was evident that the Consulate’s offerings at the foodfest did not fail to satisfy the guests, most of whom (expats and Filipinos alike) came back for extra servings. END
