28 March 2016 – The Philippine Embassy in Doha successfully hosted the training for the enrollment module of the new electronic passport system held at Grand Hyatt Doha from March 08 to 10.
The new ePassport system training, jointly organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs - Office of Consular Affairs (DFA-OCA) and the APO Production Unit Inc., was attended by representatives from 20 Foreign Service Posts (FSPs) in Middle East and African countries, as well as the Philippine Embassy in Islamabad. Participants were trained on how to use the enrollment module, including the introduction of new equipment and software.
On the first day of training, Philippine Ambassador to Qatar and former OCA Assistant Secretary Wilfredo C. Santos commended OCA, in collaboration with APO, for their efforts to establish a new ePassport system to meet the increasing demands for passport issuances in a more efficient and modern manner.
On March 08, Ambassador Santos hosted a simple dinner at the Philippine Embassy to welcome the training participants. END
