28 March 2016 - The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok commemorated International Women’s Day on March 08 under the UN Women’s regional theme of “Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step it up for gender equality.”  

A commemorative event was also organized by the United Nations Asia-Pacific Regional Coordination Mechanism Thematic Working Group on Gender Equality and Empowerment ofWomen(RCM-TWG-GEEW), co-chaired by ESCAP and UNWomen, on the same day at the UN Conference Centre in Bangkok, Thailand.

The event featured a panel discussion on challenges, gaps and opportunities towards achieving gender equality and the Sustainable Development Goals. END
