31 March 2016 - The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu went to Maui, Hawaii to conduct its 4th mobile consular outreach for the year from March 19 to 20 at the Maui Business Resource Center. Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin led the team in providing consular services to the residents of Maui and its surrounding areas. A total of 333 consular transactions were processed during the one and a half-day event. The team was able to service two hundred seventy-two (272) applicants for passports, process twenty-one (21) authentication and notarial requests, and administer oaths of allegiance to forty (40) Filipino nationals.

Members of consular outreach team also took the opportunity to conduct an information campaign on the process of overseas absentee voting in connection with the 2016 Philippine Elections. A voter information desk was set-up where the public can check whether they are registered as voters for the upcoming elections. The team also distributed COMELEC-issued voters’ IDs to registered claimants.

The event was made possible through the assistance of the Office of the Mayor of the County of Maui, Department of Housing and Human Services, and members of the Filipino community in Maui. END
