31 March 2016 – The Philippine film entitled Bwaya made its premier screening on March 22 at the 23rd Prague International Film Festival Febio Fest, according to a report from the Philippine Embassy in the Czech Republic.

Written and directed by the late Francis Xavier Pasion (08 Feb 1978 - 06 March 2016), the award-winning film is based on a true-to-life account of an incident that happened in 2009 to 12-year old Rowena Romana, who was attacked and killed by a saltwater crocodile in the floating village community in the marshlands of Agusan del Sur, home to the Manobo tribe.

Febio Fest, the largest film festival in the Czech Republic, was attended by more than 68,000 visitors. The screenings of a wide range of contemporary and retrospective samplings of high-quality films were held mainly at the CineStar Andel in Prague and selected screenings at CineStar Černý Most. END
