DELHI CONCERT 1

01 April 2016 - The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in New Delhi in partnership with National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and the Department of Foreign Affairs-Office of the Undersecretary for International Relations (OUIER) organized successful piano concerts of Dr. Raul M. Sunico, renowned and multi-awarded pianist and President of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, in New Delhi and Calcutta from March 21 to 22 and from March 24 to 25.

 

Dr. Sunico’s concert at the India International Center (IIC), a non-governmental institution known for the promotion of liberal humanism, was fully packed. An appreciative audience of more than 250 diplomats, government officials and members of the Indian and Filipino community attended the event. In collaboration with the Philippine Honorary Consulate General in Calcutta, Dr. Sunico performed different repertoire of classical music at the Calcutta Club and the Calcutta School of Music. Both were also well attended and the Calcutta Club performance had exceeded more than the expected attendees.

 

In New Delhi, Dr. Sunico also gave a master class lecture at the Delhi School of Music (DSM), an established institution for the teaching of classical music in India’s capital city. He also met Prof. Lokesh Chandra, President of the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR), a premier institution in New Delhi for research/promotion of Asian cultures. END
