04 April 2016 – The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh, in cooperation with the Filipino community in Al Khafji, participated in the 4th Al Khafji Festival which took place from March 10 to 19 at the Al Khafji Corniche. This is the first time that the Philippines participated in the event.
At the Philippine exhibit booth, tourism brochures and promotional giveaways were handed out and various native handicrafts, products and delicacies were displayed.
The annual Al Khafji festival is organized by the Municipality of Al Khafji to promote trade and tourism in the area.
Mr. Sattam Al-Balawi, Director of the Al Khafji Festival, expressed his appreciation to the Philippine Embassy and the Filipino community in Al Khafji for the Philippines’ participation in the festival and his hope that it will continue to do so every year.
The Philippines’ regular participation in the event will provide an excellent venue for the promotion of Philippine culture and tourism in the northern part of Saudi Arabia. END
