12 April 2016 - The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu, Hawaii opened its doors to the public on April 06, which marked the first day of the 30-day period of the overseas voting for the 2016 Philippine National Elections.

Casting the very first vote for the Consulate was Philippine Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin, who expressed optimism that with the adoption of the Automated Election System (AES) Modified Postal Voting for the first time in Hawaii, Filipino voters would find this year’s electoral exercise to be faster more convenient and more transparent.

Voters under the Consulate’s consular jurisdiction have two options to vote:

  1. Personal voting for voters residing in Oahu (ballots will be mailed to those who were unable to come to the Consulate before April 22); and
  2. Postal voting for voters residing in the other Hawaii islands, American Samoa and French Polynesia.

The Philippine Consulate General’s schedule for the voting period is as follows:

            09 April 2016                        :           8:00 am to 4:00 pm

            10 April to 07 May 2016      :           9:00 am to 5:00 pm

            8 May 2016                           :           9:00 am to 11:00 pm

            16 April 2016                        :           7:00 am to 3:00 pm

For purposes of identification, registered voters are requested to present a valid passport/government-issued ID prior to voting. END
