12 April 2016 The Philippine Consulate General in Agana opened the first day of overseas voting on time at 8:00 a.m. on April 09. The first day of voting proceeded smoothly and orderly with a total of eight voters casting their votes.

Based on the Certified List of Overseas Voters approved by COMELEC, the Consulate General has a total of 11,811 registered overseas voters under its jurisdiction, with Guam accounting for 3,480 registered voters; 5,768 registered in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI); 1,874 registered in the Republic of Palau; 562 in registered for the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM); and 154 registered in the Republic of Marshall Islands (RMI).

It is one of the 30 foreign service posts that will adopt the Automated Election System (AES) with mixed voting schemes, i.e. modified postal voting (especially for CNMI, Palau, FSM, and RMI) and personal voting (particularly for voters in Guam). In order to give a better chance to Filipinos in other islands to vote in the May 2016 election, the Consulate General is also scheduled to conduct field voting in Koror, Palau and in Saipan, CNMI during the third and fourth week of April2016, respectively.

Voting period will be from April 09 to May 09 (7:00 PM, Guam time). The Consulate General will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. daily, including weekends and holidays, for those who wish to personally cast their ballots. END
