Philippine Ambassador to Jakarta Maria Lumen Isleta said, “The positive turn-out on the first day of voting is reflective of the tremendous interest of the Filipinos in Indonesia to participate in the process of selecting our next leaders. I once again encourage all registered voters in Indonesia to join in this momentous occasion by voting at the Philippine Embassy.”

Maria Ana Jover from Victorias, Negros Occidental was the first voter. Ms. Jover, who has been based in Indonesia for fourteen years, is a teacher at Bina Bangsa School in Jakarta.

Voting at the Embassy is open daily, including weekends and public holidays, until May 09, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (until 4:00 p.m. only on May 09).  Field voting is also planned in Bali, Bandung, Batam, Medan, and Semarang, on dates to be announced later.
