15 April 2016 - The Philippine Embassy in Athens, along with the other ASEAN Ambassadors, conducted a seminar on ASEAN Community at the University of Athens on April 07.
Presently chaired by Vietnam, the ASEAN Committee in Athens (ACAT) in coordination with the Faculty of Turkish and Modern Asian Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens hosted the seminar at the University’s Amphitheater.
Head of the Turkish and Modern Asian Studies, Professor Ioannis Th. Mazis, who also acted as the moderator gave the opening remarks for the three-hour activity, after which the ASEAN Ambassadors gave their presentations as follows:

H.E. Nestor Z, Ochoa of the Philippines : Political Security Pillar
H.E. Benny Bahanadewa of Indonesia : Economic Pillar
H.E. Joompol Manaschuang of Thailand : Socio Cultural Pillar
Philippine Ambassador to Greece Nestor Z. Ochoa discussed the characteristics of the ASEAN Political Security Community (APSC), the initiatives that have been undertaken by ASEAN and will undertake under this Pillar, and how ASEAN Member States have agreed to forge ahead together towards achieving the ASEAN Community Vision 2025.
