MANAMA

18 April 2016 - Filipino overseas voters in Bahrain continue to arrive at the Philippine Embassy in Manama to cast their ballots for the 2016 National Elections.

After just eight days since the start of the overseas voting, over 2,000 registered Filipino overseas voters have already exercised their constitutionally guaranteed right.

Voting at the Embassy has been running smoothly since April 09 and the Vote Counting Machines (VCMs) for both of the Embassy's Special Board of Election Inspectors (SBEIs) have been performing well.

The Embassy has provided two separate rooms to serve as the voting precincts for its 18,497 registered voters.

Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Alfonso A. Ver has been very pleased with the interest being shown by overseas Filipinos in Bahrain and continues to urge others who have not yet voted to exercise their right to help shape the country’s future by choosing its leaders.

Voting hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during weekdays (Sundays to Thursdays) and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekends (Fridays and Saturdays). Overseas voting will close on 12:00 noon of May 09. END
