Pretoria  visit of Cebu businessmen

27 September 2013 —   Philippine Ambassador to South Africa Constancio R. Vingno, Jr. and Madame Yoko Ramos-Vingno hosted a lunch for a group of businessmen from Cebu City who visited South Africa from August 15 to 23.  

The group was led by Mr. George Pua, franchise owner of Tony Roma’s Steak House in the Philippines; Mr. Jan Dacay owner of Dacay’s Mietso Food International, a top manufacturer and exporter of jellies, icepops and drinks; and Mr. Philip Lo and Mrs. Cristina Lo of Coast Pacific Manufacturing Corporation that is engaged in the furniture business.

Aside from touring South Africa, the delegation was also looking for business opportunities in South Africa.  Mr. George Pua is very keen to buy a franchise of a well-known South African chicken restaurant, while Mr. Jan Dacay will send two containers’   of jellies and icepops to South Africa as a “test shipment” through his South African partner Mr. Chris Brecher of Monteagle International Limited.  Mr. and Mrs. Philip Lo are looking at the possibility of exporting furniture to South Africa.
