19 April 2016 – The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi, Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), the Social Security System (SSS), and Pag-IBIG Representative Offices in Abu Dhabi participated in the “Araw ng Kagitingan” Bowling Tournament held on April 02 at the Khalifa International Bowling Center, Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Constancio R. Vingno, Jr., in his remarks, thanked the SSS Abu Dhabi Representative Office, headed by Roel Velasco, for organizing the pre-“Araw ng Kagitingan” tournament to provide an avenue for wellness and camaraderie among officers and staff of the Embassy and attached agencies.

Once again, Ambassador Vingno’s White Team bested seven other teams and bagged the championship. Trophies, medals and cash prizes were awarded to the Top 3 teams, Top 5 Men bowlers, and Top 5 Women bowlers.

This is the second bowling tournament held this year by the Philippine Country Team Abu Dhabi. The Embassy intends to have quarterly sports activities for its personnel and their dependents. END
