27 September 2013 — Philippine Consul Chad Jacinto and Mr. Rommel Bermas from the Philippine Embassy in Pretoria travelled to Durban in Kwazulu-Natal province of South Africa to assist Philippine Honorary Consul Akash Singh in the establishment of the Philippine Consulate last September 16.

Consul Singh and his staff were given a detailed briefing on consular services including protocols for rendering assistance-to-nationals services to Filipinos. Consul Singh’s mission to promote trade and economic ties between the Philippines and South Africa was likewise given due focus during the mission.
