20 April 2016 – The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh’s own personnel cast their ballots as overseas voters as part of their duty and right to vote. It was the second time for Philippine Attaché Emmanuel “Manny” Galvez, the Embassy’s Communications Officer, to exercise his right to vote as an overseas voter and his last opportunity to cast his ballot in Riyadh before returning to the Philippines.
“Iyan po ang aking huling boto bilang Overseas Voter sa Riyadh. Uuwi po ako ng Pilipinas nang may kumpiyansa na ginanpanan ko ang aking tungkulin bilang Pilipino at overseas voter,” said Mr. Galvez.
Philippine Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ezzedin H. Tago, continues to urge all registered Filipinos to cast their votes at the earliest opportunity, preferably before the first week of May and especially the last day of elections, May 09. He also urged all Filipinos in the Kingdom to heed the call of duty of every Filipino overseas.
“As a dutiful member of the Embassy’s staff and overseas voter, Manny cast his vote early and exercised his right to vote,” said the Ambassador. “I urge all registered Filipinos to also do the same. Kasali po tayong lahat dito!”
