21 April 2016 – Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose L. Cuisia, Jr. met with members of the Filipino American community of Los Angeles on April 18 to bid farewell.
During the meeting, Ambassador Cuisia shared his views on the incoming elections, and reflections on his five-year tour of duty in the U.S. highlighting strengthened PH-US ties and successes of the Ambassadors Consul Generals and Tourism Directors Tour (ACGTDT) and the Filipino American Youth Leadership Program (FYLPro).
The Ambassador had an informative discussion with the community on the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL), relief effort for Yolanda victims, healthcare in the Philippines, medical tourism, Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) and immigration issues in the US. He cited the importance of the Filipino community in Los Angeles particularly their continued engagement in community programs. Ambassador Cuisia exhorted the community to cast their votes as early as possible.
Ambassador Cuisia assumed office as PH Ambassador to the U.S. on April 2, 2011. His tour of duty ends in June 2016. END
