22 April 2016 – Philippine Ambassador to Australia Minda Calaguian-Cruz and the officers of the Philippine Embassy in Canberra received members of the Australian National University (ANU) Filipino Association on April 15 at the Embassy premises.
The ANU Filipino Association is an official organization composed of Filipino students enrolled in ANU doing Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Political and Social Change, Environment Management and Development, Demography, Public Policy, and Public Administration. The ANU Filipino Association promotes awareness of Filipino society and culture at ANU and in the community in Canberra, Australia.
The ANU Filipino Association led by Ms. Risa Jopson shared their academic, community and social projects lined up in the following months. Ambassador Minda Calaguian-Cruz expressed full support for the ANU Filipino Association and suggested that the Embassy and ANU Filipino Association continue to closely engage each other in further developing joint projects.
Ambassador Cruz also shared developments on important issues affecting the Philippines and recognized the important role the ANU Filipino Association plays in representing the Philippines in Australia. END
