25 April 2016 – The Philippine Mission/Philippine Consulate General in Geneva intensified its information campaign for Filipinos in Geneva and Vaud to exercise their right to suffrage and make sure they cast their ballots during the voting period scheduled from April 09 to May 09.
Consul General Enrico T. Fos visited a Filipino gathering last weekend with more than a hundred Filipino attendees, in order to personally invite kababayans to come to the Voting Center.
“We had a good turnout of voters the past days. We hope you can follow their example and also exercise your right to vote,” said Consul General Fos during the gathering.
Consul General Fos also travelled to Lausanne on April 17 to speak before Filipinos there who are attending the Financial Education and Entrepreneurial Workshop for Overseas Filipinos, co-organized by the Consulate and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Geneva (POLO-Geneva).
Registered Filipinos who were present expressed their gratitude to the Consulate for reminding them about the voting period schedule.
There are a total of 2,334 certified Filipino voters at the Consulate, which has jurisdiction over Geneva and Vaud. END
