25 April 2016 - The Philippine Embassy in Prague welcomes the signing of the cooperation agreement between the Ateneo de Manila University and Charles University in Prague on April 06.

 

The Ateneo, represented by Vice President for University and Global Relations Fr. Jose M. Cruz, SJ, signed the cooperation agreement with Charles University Rector Tomáš Zima that paves the way for more exchanges for students and professors

 

The prestigious Ateneo de Manila University became the first university in the Philippines to sign a cooperation with Charles University, the oldest and largest university in the Czech Republic, founded in 1348 and ranks in the upper 1.5% of the world’s best universities. First Secretary and Consul Juan E. Dayang Jr. witnessed the signing of the agreement

 

The signing of the agreement coincided with the 5th ASEM Rectors’ Conference (ARC 5) from 6 to 8 April 2016 in Prague with the theme of the ARC5 is “Employability: Asia and Europe Prepare the New Generation” which was attended by Fr. Cruz, SJ

 

Other Filipino participants in the ARC 5 included University of the Philippines Baguio Chancellor Dr. Raymundo D. Rovillos while the Student Forum was attended by UP student Miguel Pangalangan and Ms Karen Daval-Santos studying at the International University of Japan. END
