29 April 2016 - Arnel Jimenez Ferrer of Calasiao, Pangasinan becomes the first Filipino seafarer who voted in Turkey. He was able to cast his vote on April 25, when a Team from the Philippine Embassy in Ankara went to Tuzla Port to assist the seafarers in casting their ballots for the May 2016 national elections of the Philippines.
