05 May 2016 – The Philippine Embassy participated in the Bahrain for All, All for Bahrain, a major festival showcasing the various cultures of expatriate communities in Bahrain, held at the Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Park in Hidd, Kingdom of Bahrain on April 29. The event was held under the theme “Diversity. Harmony. Unity.”
The Filipino Community also participated in the festival with United Muslim Mindanaoans Association (UMMA) performing “Singkil Dance.” The officers of Pinay Ikaw Na (PIN), also a Filipino Community Organization, were also present to sell Filipino delicacies such as Maja Blanca, Bilo-bilo, Halo-halo, and Gulaman. The Embassy also promoted Philippine tourism by displaying posters and giving out brochures provided by the Department of Tourism (DOT).
Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Alfonso Ver gave a short message on the said occasion and gave a brief description of the “Singkil Dance” performed by the UMMA.
The event was participated by more than 20 community clubs and the Embassies of Nepal, Indonesia Egypt, Jordan, Philippines, Pakistan, India, Sudan, Baluchi, China, and Palestine. END
