06 May 2016 - From April 28 to May 01, the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco deployed a five-person consular outreach team to Anchorage and Juneau, Alaska, to offer consular services to kababayans in and around the area.

Assisted by the Filipino-American Community headed by Mr. Jesse Vizcocho in Anchorage, and Honorary Consul Jenny Strickler in Juneau, Post was able to process 333 passport renewals, six passport extensions, three lost passports and one Travel Document. The team also authenticated seven documents, issued 49 acknowledgement/certifications, processed eight reports of marriage, and 20 reports of birth.

For the four day outreach, a total of 24 Filipinos reacquired citizenship accompanied by nine derivatives.

Filipinos comprise the largest ethnic group in Alaska, with as much as 40,000 Filipino-Americans living in the state.

The Philippine Consulate in San Francisco conducts regular annual consular outreaches to various locations in the ten states under its jurisdiction, namely: Alaska, Northern California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Northern Nevada, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
