12 May 2016 – The Special Board of Canvassers (SBOC) of the Philippine Embassy in Manama, Bahrain, chaired by Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain H.E. Alfonso A. Ver, successfully transmitted to COMELEC the canvassed election returns from the two precincts of the Embassy just after midnight on May 10.

Presidential frontrunner Rodrigo “Rody” Duterte garnered 75.06% of the total votes cast; while administration bet Manuel “Mar” Roxas II came in second with 9.87% of the votes cast. In the race for Vice-President, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos received 44.97% of the total votes cast, while Allan Peter Cayetano ranked second after receiving 29.04% of the votes.

A total of 7,269 voters cast their ballots at the Philippine Embassy during the 30-day period of overseas voting, representing  39.30% of the 18,497 total registered overseas voters in Bahrain. END
