MANAMA BAZAAR

12 May 2016 – The Philippine Embassy participated in the International Embassies Bazaar on May 02, organized by Children and Mother Welfare Society, under the patronage of Shaikha Hessa bint Ali al-Khalifa, wife of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Philippine stall featured various Philippine products, including table runners made of abaca, fans, rattan bags, buntal bags made of straw obtained from leaves of the talipot palm, rattan tissue holders, cutlery cases, and the famous dried mangoes from Cebu.

Paintings of sceneries from the Philippines such as the Banawe rice terraces, the shores of Boracay, as well as the Philippine churches and houses, and Filipiniana dresses and barongs were also displayed at the Philippine booth. The booth was also decorated with colorful posters and Embassy personnel distributed Department of Tourism (DOT) brochures to promote Philippine tourism.

A total of 34 embassies took part in the bazaar. Shaikha Aisha bint Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa inaugurated the annual charity event together with the society’s President Shaikha Hind bint Salman Al Khalifa. END
