12 May 2016 – The Philippine Embassy in Santiago personnel participated in a friendly match of futsal with the staff of ASEAN Missions in Chile against the US Embassy on April 02. The event was organized by the ASEAN Committee in Santiago (ACS) to further cultivate camaraderie between ACS and US Embassy personnel.

The ACS is composed of ASEAN Missions in Chile, namely the Embassies of Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam. The families of ACS officers and staff also played in the matches, which saw the US Embassy winning over ASEAN 5-3.

The event is the first of its kind organized by ACS. The group is planning subsequent friendly futsal matches against Chilean government officials and members of the diplomatic corps. END
