Vienna Choir

18 May 2016 - Battling the cold weather and with minimum logistical support, the Coro Regina Coeli, a choir from Rosario, Cavite under the direction of Conductor Mr. Renalie Aquino, went on to win the gold prizes in the Mixed Choir and Sacred Choral Music categories in the 30th Franz Schubert International Choir Competition, which ran from May 04 to 07. Composed mainly of young students, the Coro Regina Coeli bested 16 choirs from 11 countries in the competition held in Schubert-Saal, Kozerthaus in Vienna, Austria.

Before the competition, the choir was invited by Ambassador Maria Zeneida Angara Collinson for lunch where she took the opportunity to give them a pep talk. The Coro Regina Coeli choir accepted the Ambassador’s invitation to use the official residence as practice venue before the competition.

Coro Regina Coeli received support from Circulo Caviteno, headed by Mr. Elmer Blanco, CFAA President. The choir will be travelling to Spain next after Austria. END
