SG LSE

25 May 2016 - The LSE Consortium on Migration and Development and the Ateneo School of Government (ASoG) launched the 38th LSE Program in Singapore on Sunday, May 22 at the Philippine Bayanihan Centre.

Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Antonio A. Morales graced the event together with other officials of the Philippine Embassy, Mr. and Mrs. Edgardo Valenzuela of ASoG and officials of the LSE Secretariat Singapore. The LSE Program is a collaborative effort since 2008 and pioneered in Rome. It is intended to provide a meaningful and significant capacity-building experience for the participants to become better examples to their families and contribute to financial inclusion and nation-building.

This year, Singapore joins Macau, Hong Kong, Madrid and Barcelona in hosting the LSE program. The Singapore launch had over 200 participants. Ambassador Morales congratulated the ASoG for ‘realizing its dream’ of setting up an LSE program in Singapore. He noted that the initiative complements the efforts in general of the Philippine government and the Embassy in providing opportunities for overseas Filipinos to pursue further education even while working abroad. He also congratulated the participants for seizing the opportunity to earn additional knowledge and qualifications through the LSE program. END
