03 June 2016 - As part of the Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur’s commemoration of the 118th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) will be going to Kuala Lumpur to provide its services to the Filipino community in Malaysia.
A team from PhilHealth will be at the Embassy during office hours of June 03 (Friday) for consultations, issue Member Data Record (MDR) and PhilHealth Number Cards, correct and amend member’s information, and attend to inquiries as well as update and provide information on PhilHealth benefits and services.
They will also provide a full briefing to members of the Filipino community on its products and services, as well as address member’s queries on June 04 (Saturday). The briefing will be held at the Embassy at 2 p.m.
They will also be part of the Embassy’s Fiesta sa Embahada 2016 celebrations on June 05 (Sunday) to provide information on its products and services, issue MDRs and PNCs and allow those present to correct and amend their member’s information.
“The Filipino community in Malaysia have eagerly awaited the visit of PhilHealth and we are grateful to PhilHealth to coming over to Kuala Lumpur, as Filipinos here are also in need of health services,” Philippine Ambassador to Malaysia J. Eduardo Malaya said.
PhilHealth aims to provide health insurance coverage and ensure affordable and accessible health care services for Filipinos.
It is currently exploring strategies to provide better service to its members based overseas, including receiving immediate financial relief in the event they become ill and seek hospitalization in their host countries.
PhilHealth plans to install, by next year, a system that will allow PhilHealth members based overseas to simply submit online their individual claims for repayment. END
