06 June 2016 – The Philippine Embassy in Seoul conducted a two-day Consular Outreach Mission on 27-28 May 2016 in Daegu, one of the largest cities in the Republic of Korea and the principal city in the North Gyeongsang Province.
The consular mission to Daegu, home to 1,673 Filipinos as of December 31, 2015, was conducted at the Daegu Catholic Church in coordination with the Daegu Filipino Catholic Community (DFCC) and the Catholic Migrant Workers’ Center (CMWC). The seven-member team was led by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Lyza Maria S. Viejo.
Philippine Honorary Consul General An Sang-wook, whose jurisdiction covers the Daegu Metropolitan Area, visited the mission on the second day with staff from Busan, where the Philippine Consulate General is based.
Volunteers from the DFCC provided coordination and logistical support. The consular team processed a total of 311 consular services including passport applications, civil registration, notarial services, and travel document applications.END
