07 June 2016 - The Philippine Embassy in Santiago held a basic health screening and lecture for the Filipino community on May 28 at Salon Fundadores, Providencia in Santiago. The event was organized by the Embassy in partnership with volunteers from the Universidad de Chile Faculty of Medicine.

Participants were lectured on common health issues in Chile and enjoined to develop good self-care habits including chiropractic self-care, conducting regular self-exams for breast tumors, and avoiding the risks of HPV infection. They were also informed on the ways to access Chile’s publicly funded health system. A basic health screening involving blood pressure and weight and height reading were also provided by the volunteers.

At the event’s conclusion, Embassy officials thanked the Filipino community and the Universidad de Chile Faculty of Medicine for their participation.
