10 June 2016 – The Philippine Embassy in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain celebrated the 118th Anniversary of the Declaration of Philippine Independence on May 31 with a diplomatic reception held at the Radisson Blu Hotel under the theme “Kalayaan 2016: Pagkakaisa, Pagaambagan, Pagsulong.“
HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa was represented at the event by Shaikh Khalifa bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, and Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa as the chief guests. Undersecretary Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla represented the Bahrain Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In his speech, Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Alfonso A. Ver expressed his deep appreciation of HRH’s Premier’s support for all efforts aimed at boosting cooperation between the Philippines and Bahrain. He underlined the Philippines’ interest in further widening cooperation with Bahrain in all fields. Ambassador Ver highlighted the great strides achieved by the Philippine economy in the recent successful national elections. He also recognized the efforts of the Filipino community in Bahrain.
In attendance at the event were members of the Diplomatic Corps, government officials, business leaders, and members of the Filipino community in Bahrain. END
