14 June 2016 - Officials of the Philippine Embassy and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Singapore led by Minister and Consul General Victorio Mario M. Dimagiba Jr., Chargé d’Affaires, a.i., graced the 24th founding anniversary of the Filipino Overseas Workers in Singapore (FOWS) on May 29 at the Xian Ci Restaurant at Carpenter Street, Singapore.
During the program, Minister and Consul General Dimagiba, gave an inspirational message to the audience. This was followed by the traditional blowing of the birthday cake candle to symbolize the occasion. FOWS held its annual Miss FOWS beauty contest. Raffle draws were also conducted to the delight of the crowd.
FOWS, one of the pioneers in the implementation of Skills Training Programs (STPs) for Filipino Household Service Workers (HSWs) in Singapore, was established in 1992.
FOWS offers a number of courses for HSWs including, among others, dressmaking, human resource management, culinary arts, nursing aid, and computer programming. FOWS has held its courses at the PHL Bayanihan Centre since 2002. END
