16 June 2016 - In celebration of the 118th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence, the Filipino Community in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy, organized a "Philippine Fiesta 2016" at the Adhari Park, Tubli, Kingdom of Bahrain on June 03.
In his message to the Filipino community, Ambassador Alfonso A. Ver said, “It was a great day and what made it really great was having the Filipinos community come together. He also thanked the Royal family for giving the opportunity for 60,000 Filipinos in Bahrain to consider the country their “second home.”
During this occasion, the Filipino Community featured traditional Filipino Culture and Heritage through various shows and activities. There were performances of Filipino Songs and Ethnic Dances as well as modern musical performances presented by the various Filipino and Bahraini Groups. There was also an “Expo” of Philippine art, food, services, and other activities throughout the day. The event also highlighted the friendship and camaraderie of the people of Bahrain and the Filipino expatriate community. END
