16 June 2016 - Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Alfonso A. Ver accompanied six Foreign Service Officers (FSOs) on a courtesy call to Assistant Undersecretary for GCC Affairs and Western Countries Dhafer Ahmed Alumran at the Kingdom of Bahrain Ministry of Foreign Affairs last May 25. 

Assistant Undersecretary Alumran emphasized the importance of inculcating a deep sense of patriotism and nationalism among young people today. “Young men and women are the best ambassadors of a country. Young people must spread the importance of their country wherever they go,” said the Assistant Undersecretary.

The Assistant Undersecretary briefed the FSOs on the strategic importance of Bahrain in the GCC, and the investment and economic priorities of Bahrain such as raising the level of entrepreneurship among the youth. He further discussed strategies on strengthening Philippines-Bahrain bilateral relations.

The visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain Ministry of Foreign Affairs is part of the Basic Apprenticeship Program in Diplomatic and Consular Practice in Foreign Service for the Foreign Service Officers Cadetship Course.

The FSOs in attendance included Stacy Danika Alcantara, Mina Angeles Ganzon, Alfred Kristoffer Guiang, Jet Olfato, Angeli Payumo, and Pat Lester Solosa.  END
