5 October 2013 - The Philippine Consulate General in Macau SAR participated in the recently concluded Macau Education Fair 2013 which ran from September 27 to 29 at The Venetian-Macau.
The Consulate’s booth at the fair distributed some information on Philippine educational institutions, including tourism information materials. It also entertained questions from students and parents on how to apply to Philippine universities and how to process their visa application.
This was the second time that the Consulate participated in said fair. This year, the Consulate was joined by representatives from the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) and the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) who gave out brochures regarding their respective institutions and met with officials of Macau’s Tertiary Education Services Office.
About 100 educational institutions took part in the fair, including consulates of various countries like Germany, France, the United Sates, and Japan.
The promotion of Philippine educational institutions is one of the thrusts of the Consulate in order to encourage travel to the Philippines, promote cultural understanding, and enhance the country’s image by cultivating awareness of the high quality of education that the Philippines offers.
Organized by The Venetian Macao-Resort Hotel and Tertiary Education Services Office of the Macau SAR Government, the Macau Education Fair is aimed at providing information to students from Macau and mainland China regarding study opportunities within China and abroad. The fair attracts some 10,000 visitors every year. END
