5 October 2013 –The Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing, China promoted Philippine tourism at the 9th China Food Exposition in Chengdu, Sichuan Province from September 15 to 18. During the exposition, Consulate personnel distributed tourism brochures and promotional materials and answered queries on travel to the Philippines from Chinese shoppers and tradesmen who attended the highly-popular trade fair.

This trade exposition attracts over 150,000 visitors and 30,000 traders yearly.

The Consulate has been intensifying its efforts in promoting the Philippines as a travel destination to tap a growing market composed of an increasing number of families from Western China who can afford overseas travel due to the rapid economic growth in the region. END
