07 October 2013 - The officers and staff of the Philippine Embassy in Brussels and their family members actively participated in the annual ASEAN Family Day held on September 28 at the Visé Football Academy in Liege.  The event was organized by the Embassy of Laos, as current Chair of the ASEAN Brussels Committee (ABC).

All 10 ASEAN Embassies in Brussels attended the day-long event, which featured a buffet of ASEAN cuisine, a friendly football match, and various contests for both children and adults.

The ASEAN Brussels Committee (ABC) is one of the most active ASEAN Committees in Third Countries.  Through the ABC, ASEAN Embassies in Brussels collectively make representations with the governments of Belgium and Luxembourg, as well as the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

The ABC also undertakes social events to foster camaraderie among ASEAN Embassies and cultural events to promote ASEAN in the host country. END
