20 June 2016 - The Philippine Embassy in Nairobi held a celebration of the 118th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence with the Filipino community at the Philippine Embassy Chancery in Nairobi, Kenya.
The event was attended by around 130 members of the Filipino community in Kenya and some guests from Kenya and the expat community. The Embassy honored important members of the Filipino community in an awarding ceremony for those who have contributed to the success of the Embassy’s programs this past year and whose leadership raised the stature of the Philippines in Kenya. The Embassy officers and staff performed the malong dance while members of the Filipino community performed song and dance numbers before party games began. The celebration ended with a film showing of “Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo.” END
