21 June 2016 – As part of the Philippine Embassy in Dhaka’s cultural diplomacy program, the Loboc Children’s Choir (LCC) and the Bohol-based Dulaang Kasing Sining Theatre group performed on May 29 at the Experimental Theatre Hall of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

The program, titled “The Power of Song: A Chorus of Cultures,” was a lyrical welcome to the Loboc Children’s Choir by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Dhaka University, and Shilpakala Academy. The program was an opportunity for the LCC to interact with the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Children Music Team and Jol Duari by the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies, Dhaka University.

The program promoted exchanges between the LCC and the culture and arts community in Bangladesh, and established a network of cultural and musical personalities and organizations. The program succeeded in enhancing cultural promotion and partnerships between the Philippines and Bangladesh.

Ministry of Cultural Affairs Secretary Aktari Mamtaz, Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. A.A.M.S. Arefin Siddique and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky were special guests in the event. END
