21 June 2016 — The Philippine Embassy in Dhaka hosted a flag-raising ceremony to commemorate the 118th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence on June 12 at the Philippine Chancery in Dhaka.
The event commenced with the traditional raising of the Philippine national flag and the reading of the Independence Day messages of President Benigno S. Aquino III and Foreign Affairs Secretary Jose Rene D. Almendras. The theme of this year’s celebration is “Kalayaan 2016: Pagkakaisa, Pagaambagan, Pagsulong.” The event was attended by the Filipino community President and officers.
A Filipino style salu-salo prepared by the Embassy was organized and held at the end of the program. END
