04 July 2016 – Philippine Ambassador to Lebanon Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz paid a farewell call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Gebran Bassil in his office on June 23 during which she also briefed him on the latest developments in Philippines-Lebanon relations.
During her call, Ambassador Ruiz also conveyed the warm greetings of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs.
Ambassador Ruiz cited the year 2016 as a banner year for bilateral relations because on October 24, both countries will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
Minister Bassil welcomed the initiatives of the Philippine Embassy and assured that the Ministry supports mutual efforts to intensify cooperation in all aspects of the relationship.
At the conclusion of her call, Ambassador Ruiz presented Minister Bassil with a hand blown glass décor depicting the traditional Filipino bayanihan spirit. END
